Posting a new thread or replying to an existing thread is the life blood of the Gain Grow Retain community, knowing how is as easy as following these steps. A reminder that self-promotion is not allowed in our discussions. Please read our Community Guidelines for more information

Post a New Thread

*You must be logged into your account to engage with conversations

You can add a new post to the Gain Grow Retain community from any page

Immediately under the header, select the New Post button

Choose New Discussion from the pop-up window

If you are outside of a category or subcategory, you can click the Select a category button to identify the location of your post

Fill in the boxes

  • Create a clear and easy to understand title
  • Add your content in the message box
  • You can include verbiage, emoji’s, images, videos, links, and attachments

*Adding a hyperlink to a post can be a great way to direct people to resources housed on another platform

To hyperlink, highlight the text you would like to link

Select the link icon and paste or type your URL and hit enter (URL must include https://)

Selected word(s) will turn blue identifying them as a link

  • Be sure to give enough information that a reader understands what you are saying or asking
  • Tags are an important part of any post. These help members find information even if they happened to miss it as a discussion
  • Click Show popular tags to get a list of tag (Select as many as apply to your post)

At this point, you can

  • Cancel the post which deletes it
  • Save Draft which allows you to come back to it later if you need to add more information
  • Post Discussion – makes the post live

Edit Your Post

Once a thread has been posted, you may find that you need to go back in and make a quick change (those pesky typos that you see only AFTER you hit the Post button come to mind). You can make these changes for up to an hour after the post is submitted. After that timeframe, please click the Flag option and leave a note about the changes you would like made

Navigate to the post you would like to edit

Click the ellipse (3 dots) at the upper right corner of your post (this will only be available for a post you have submitted)

From the pop up, please select Edit

This will open up the post and allow you to make any changes needed

Click Save Comment to republish

Delete Your Post

Post deletions can only be done by reaching out to the Community Moderators

You can only delete your own posts. For posts you think should be looked at, use flag feature with an explanation of the issue you see

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
