Hi there!
I'm new to GGR and so glad I found this community. I'm currently in month three of my job search—which, as many of you know, can feel like a lifetime.
My background in Client Success is primarily in the Education and Entertainment/Live Events sectors. What drew me to CS in the first place—and still drives me—is the joy of helping people and creating experiences that leave them feeling supported and seen. Many of the soft skills required for CS come naturally to me, and I've received great feedback in the past from clients and internal teams alike.
As I've been applying, I’ve leaned toward companies with a strong sense of mission—especially those in SaaS for Healthcare or EdTech—because I want to be part of work that makes a difference. But I’m hitting a wall and not getting much traction.
My questions for the group:
- Has anyone successfully transitioned into SaaS/Healthcare CS from a non-traditional background?
- Are there certifications, tools, or areas of knowledge that helped you stand out when switching industries?
- Any tips for communicating transferable skills when your past roles aren't 1:1 with traditional SaaS CS roles?
Grateful for any insight. Thank you all for what you share here!
