I just joined Gain Grow Retain, and like you, am seeking to pivot careers. My background is predominantly digital marketing, with some experience in event coordination & a dash of customer success. I'm actively looking for new roles, but am running into the challenge of lack of CS-specific experience. I'm wondering…
Besides the job board here, what other places do you look for CS roles that welcome transferable skills?
As a newbie here, I'm also open to any and all tips or resources you've found helpful :)

I was in the same boat and would likely stick to smaller companies where hiring managers/recruiters are actually looking at resumes. I would guess your lack of direct CS experience would immediately put you in a 'no' pile if ATS is involved. You should cater your resume to speak to your CS experience; spend some time listening to Carly Agar's Customer Success Career Coach podcast to add metrics to your resume and cater it to CS to help you get noticed. And then make sure to build your confidence through practicing your career stories. Since CS demands executive presence, you'll need to shine in your interviews. Good luck!

Hi, thanks for for sharing your journey and I can relate with you. On a different note, have you considered taking csm certifications because that's what I am thinking about now to make my resume stand out in some way to recruiters

I would love to know what CS certifications? I don't see any out there that have any real value. They are mostly money making ventures.

Hi @Brian O'Keeffe. Out of all the certifications I shortlisted SuccessCoaching's CCSM Certifications. They provide certifications upto Level 5. Given my lack of direct CSM experience I am planning to take up Level 1 and Level 2 certifications.

@ShoubhikRoy - Educational opportunities are excellent, but just because someone says that their course is certified doesn't mean that the certification means more than proof that you've completed SuccessCoaching's CCSM courses.
Now, that may be a good thing. Starting and sticking to it could be something that a hiring manager likes to see. However, a hiring manager may care more about what you know than the certificate. Be prepared with a list of the things you've learned.
For example, I take courses that offer certificates, but there's no governing body for Community Management, so the certificates show that I've taken courses offered by certain thought leaders in my field. That's good enough for me.
